طه

Translation By
Dr. Mustafa Khattab
20:1
Ta Ha
(1)

طه

Ṭâ-Hâ.
20:2
Not
We (have) sent down
to you
the Quran
that you be distressed
(2)

We have not revealed the Quran to you ˹O Prophet˺ to cause you distress,
20:3
(But)
(as) a reminder
ﭿfor (those) who
fear
(3)

but as a reminder to those in awe ˹of Allah˺.
20:4
A revelation
from (He) Who
created
the earth
and the heavens
[the] high
(4)

˹It is˺ a revelation from the One Who created the earth and the high heavens—
20:5
The Most Gracious
over
the Throne
is established
(5)

the Most Compassionate, ˹Who is˺ established on the Throne.
20:6
To Him (belongs)
whatever
(is) in
the heavens
and whatever
(is) in
the earth
and whatever
(is) between them
and whatever
(is) under
the soil
(6)

To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth and whatever is in between and whatever is underground.
20:7
And if
you speak aloud
the word
then indeed, He
knows
the secret
and the more hidden
(7)

Whether you speak openly ˹or not˺, He certainly knows what is secret and what is even more hidden.
20:8
Allah
(there is) no
god
except
ﮧﮨHim
To Him (belong)
the Names
the Most Beautiful
(8)

Allah—there is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except Him. He has the Most Beautiful Names.
20:9
And has
come to you
the narration
(of) Musa
(9)

Has the story of Moses reached you ˹O Prophet˺?
20:10
When
he saw
a fire
then he said
to his family
Stay here
indeed, I
[I] perceived
a fire
perhaps I (can)
bring you
therefrom
a burning brand
or
I find
at
the fire
guidance
(10)

When he saw a fire, he said to his family, “Wait here, ˹for˺ I have spotted a fire. Perhaps I can bring you a torch from it, or find some guidance at the fire.”1
